How Web Tapping Works
Step 1: Create Digital Coins
Log into your parent or teacher dashboard and navigate to "Manage Coins". Click "Create Digital Coin" and fill in:
- Coin Name: "Finished Homework", "Helped Sibling", "Practiced Piano"
- Type: Choose from Chore, Homework, Exercise, Reading, Kindness, Creativity, Bonus
- Rarity: Select XP value (Common 10 XP to Legendary 250 XP)
- Lock Mode: Manual, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Per-Student

Step 2: Access Coin Dashboard
Students can access their coin dashboard in three ways:
- Student Portal: Log in at
/parent_hub/kid-portal.php
- Parent Tap: Parents open family dashboard and tap on behalf of kids
- Teacher Tap: Teachers tap from classroom dashboard for students
Step 3: Tap to Earn
When a student completes a task:
- Open the appropriate dashboard (student/parent/teacher)
- Find the coin that matches the completed task
- Click or tap the coin button
- Select which student earned the reward (if multiple options)
- XP awarded instantly! 🎉
- Lock mode activates (if enabled) to prevent immediate re-tap
Step 4: Track Progress
View real-time updates on:
- Total XP earned
- Current level and progress to next level
- Tap history with timestamps

Frequently Asked Questions
Can students tap coins themselves or do parents/teachers have to do it?
Both! Students can log into their portal and self-tap for completed tasks. Or, parents/teachers can tap on behalf of students. You choose what works best for your situation and age group.
What prevents students from spamming taps to get unlimited XP?
Lock modes! Set coins to hourly, daily, or weekly locks so they can only be tapped once per time period. Parents and teachers can also review tap history to spot unusual patterns. Plus, you can enable "require parent approval" mode for younger kids.
Do I need internet connection for web tapping?
Yes, web tapping requires internet connection since it syncs to the cloud in real-time. However, we're working on offline mode that will queue taps and sync when connection is restored.
Can I convert a digital coin to a physical NFC coin later?
Not directly, but you can purchase physical NFC coins and assign them the same name/type/rarity as your digital coin, then delete the digital version. All tap history is preserved in the system.
